**This is a fully remote position for someone located within Portugal only, with knowledge of Portuguese accounting/payment processes.


Hours: Part time, up to 20 hours per week


Position Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance & Accounting Assistant with strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting and payment processes to support our Portugal team. This part-time, remote role is key to ensuring accurate and compliant handling of European venue-related financial activities. The role requires frequent interaction with our Head of Finance, Executive Assistant and external accountants.

Key Responsibilities


  • Invoice Processing & Settlement
  • Process and settle invoices related to European venues (rentals, insurance, on-site human resources).
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Portuguese accounting practices.
  • Document Management
  • File and organize all financial documents related to commercial transactions in the company’s shared drives.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible records for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Internal & External Communication
  • Liaise regularly with the invoicing department and the Financial Director of Poseidon Portugal.
  • Communicate with the Portuguese accounting office as required to resolve questions and ensure proper reporting.
  • Expense Tracking & Reporting
  • Monitor and update the “ins and outs” sheet for expenses across European activities.
  • Provide reporting and summaries to management to support financial planning.

Qualifications & Skills


  • Solid understanding of Portuguese accounting, tax, and payment processes.
  • Experience in a finance, accounting, or administrative support role.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Drive, Sheets, Docs) and basic financial tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
