The Warehouse Lead – Inbound & Kitting is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all inbound receiving operations, quality control processes, and kitting functions. This role ensures timely and accurate receipt of goods, compliance with quality standards, and efficient assembly of kitted products. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of warehouse processes, team supervision, and continuous improvement practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Supervision

  • Lead and supervise warehouse team members and Process Assistants working in Inbound Receiving, Quality Control, and Kitting.
  • Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing development on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative team culture.

Inbound Operations Management

  • Oversee inbound receiving dock operations, including scheduling, unloading, and verifying shipments.
  • Establish and maintain robust communication channels with internal business units (e.g., Sales, Customer Service, Inventory) to ensure seamless information flow, proactive problem-solving, and alignment on Inbound and Kitting priorities.
  • Ensure timely processing of inbound freight while maintaining accuracy of documentation and system entries.
  • Partner with Inventory Control to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate stock levels.

Quality Control

  • Oversee inbound quality control procedures, ensuring products meet company and vendor standards.
  • Identify and document defects or non-conformances, working with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Monitor quality metrics and drive improvements in defect prevention and inspection accuracy through established AQL process. 

Kitting Operations

  • Direct daily kitting activities, ensuring efficient assembly of kits to meet demand schedules while hitting efficiency metrics.
  • Ensure kitting activities are logged in Warehouse Management System to maintain accurate inventory
  • Optimize workflows and layouts for productivity, accuracy, and safety.
  • Collaborate with Made In teams to maintain material availability and reduce bottlenecks.

Process Improvement

  • Utilize Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Track and analyze and own KPIs for Inbound, Quality Control, and kitting (e.g., receiving cycle times, QC pass rates, units per hour in kitting).
  • Drive initiatives to improve throughput, reduce costs, and enhance overall accuracy.

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and provide corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment across inbound and kitting areas.

QualificationsExperience:

  • 3–5 years of warehouse operations experience, with emphasis on inbound, quality control, or kitting.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related technology (Google Suite, Slack, Looker, or similar tools).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/move items up to 49 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Schedule:

  • Normal operating hours: 8am–5pm.
  • Weekend shifts and extended hours may be required during peak demand.
