Full-time Internship -- Actuarial

Venerable has a current and immediate Internship opportunity for a candidate who will support and gain exposure to key aspects of our Assumption setting process within our Finance organization.


Responsibilities vary but may include:


  • Updating and developing Excel spreadsheets that extensively utilize Excel formulae and data utilities.
  • Developing and presenting memorandums to summarize analysis and results for various types of audiences including immediate teams as well as for senior leaders of the company.
  • Using data analysis tools (such as R and SQL) to summarize data extracts, organize data at varying levels, and interpret trends in data for various purposes such as an assumption setting, investigation of reserve movements, and risk reporting.
  • Use Excel/PowerBI to visualize data summary, trend and reconciliation results.
  • Building an understanding of variable annuity product features and the primary risk drivers.
  • Gaining an understanding of market data and various metrics that are used to measure risks associated with variable annuities.
  • Building and maintaining documentation on processes.
  • Assisting with assumption development, completion of strategic projects, and improving processes, documentation, and analytics.

Key Qualifications


This internship is ideally suited to a recent graduate who possesses a strong mathematical aptitude, solid technical skills, display personal initiative and communication skills. Strong preference will be given to candidates interested in pursuing a career in Actuarial Science.Prior internship or co-op experience preferred.

Note:

Applicants are required to adhere to our hybrid in-office practice; 3 days/week (T/W/Th) on site at our West Chester, PA work location; 2 days/week remote. Applicants should have the immediate availability to work a full-time, 40 hour/week schedule. Targeted start date is October, 2025.
