GOTR is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) program that is designed to support participants’ social, psychological and physical wellbeing.GOTR teams meet twice weekly at school and park sites for eight weeks.
Each team is formed by a “site liaison” – including caregivers, school personnel and volunteers – who are committed to offering GOTR in their community. Trained volunteer coaches impart life skills using a curriculum that combines interactive lessons and physical activity. The season concludes with a celebratory 5K event, which provides a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The Program Outreach Manager plays a key role in this expansion by supporting sustainable growth and quality delivery of GOTR programming across Oregon and SW Washington.Position OverviewTo ensure access to our uplifting program, the Program Outreach Manager serves as the primary driver of site recruitment and school engagement for Girls on the Run, managing new site relationships across Oregon and SW Washington while supporting overall program delivery.The role involves significant relationship management, from building partnerships with schools and community organizations to coordinating with volunteers. A successful candidate will excel in both outward-facing cultivation initiatives and detailed operational tasks, such as tracking revenue targets and database management.Core ResponsibilitiesRecruitment and Relationship Management
- Recruitment Planning and Delivery: Develop seasonal site recruitment calendars, maintain comprehensive contact databases, and track GOTR team site history to inform recruitment strategies.
- Database and Lead Management: Maintain detailed records of schools and community contacts at potential and lapsed program sites across Oregon and SW Washington. Manage outreach pipelines and execute multi-touchpoint communication strategies.
- Revenue Tracking: Monitor site revenue history and predicted income against budget goals to guide recruitment efforts.
Communication and Outreach
- Email Campaign Management: Write, segment, and execute targeted email campaigns through Pinwheel and Outlook, including follow-up tracking and personalized outreach.
- Promotional Activities: Lead site interest calls, present at PTA meetings and community events, and manage physical mailing campaigns.
- Materials Development: Collaborate on recruitment packet updates and create post-season site recap materials to support site cultivation.
Program Support
- Volunteer Engagement: Engage volunteers in visiting teams and providing on-the-ground support as needed.
- Season Support: As a member of the Program Team, assist with program support and responding to inquiries during peak operational periods.
Qualities and Qualifications
- Commitment to Girls on the Run mission and the ability to effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image and whole-person health.
- Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Database management and CRM system proficiency.
- Relationship building and sales tracking.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite and adept at learning new systems.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Experience with Girls on the Run or other similar youth programs preferred.
- Willingness to travel throughout Oregon and SW Washington.
- Familiarity with urban and rural education systems preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:This is a non-exempt, full-time hourly position paying a rate of $25.00 - $27.00 per hour. Girls on the Run Greater Oregon offers a generous PTO plan, a benefits package including company subsidized medical and dental, vision coverage, as well as a 401k plan with employer match.This position can be located in any of our current programming regions – Portland Metro, Eugene, Corvallis or Bend. If located in Portland, this position would follow a hybrid work model; if located in another area it would be fully remote.
