This is a customer-facing, outside sales role requiring frequent travel to customer sites and the ability to discuss complex technical solutions with engineers and plant managers. Process industry sales is a relationship-driven business. Our ideal candidate is proactive, personable, and able to gain trust quickly with customers and internal stakeholders, leveraging their technical understanding and expertise. 

Hiring Range:


The hiring range for this position is

$98,000-$125,000 annually with quarterly profit sharing.

This is the base pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.  

What you'll be doing:


  • Lead all activities on assigned accounts, including sales forecasts, gross profit forecasts, territory, and account plans.
  • Achieve annual sales goals through account growth
  • Determine and understand customers’ key business issues and needs, and develop a high level of relevant industry knowledge for Key/Strategic accounts.
  • Create solutions utilizing products and services offered by Caltrol to address customers’ business needs.
  • Assist Inside support staff with the preparation of quotations, sourcing equipment, and closing orders, as necessary. If required, the Account Manager may help expedite the delivery of equipment, vendor data, and payment.
  • Ensures customer quotes are being completed promptly, and quote follow-up is occurring to achieve sales.
  • Maintain and update Project tracking tools and participate in scheduled review sessions.
  • Updates management regularly on pipeline projects

What we're looking for:


  • 3-4 years of experience in outside sales.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in technical sales, account management, or business development in industrial automation, refining or heavy industries.
  • Background in Control Valves, Isolation Valve Sales & Valve Services. 
  • Strong track record of B2B sales success (new customer acquisition + account growth).
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and multi-BU opportunities.
  • Comfortable engaging from plant floor to executive leadership levels.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills with a self-starter mindset.
  • Driver's License in good standing and an excellent driving record. 

Preferred:


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Preferred: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with Industrial Process Automation / Process Controls.

Work Environment/Work Schedule:


Hybrid work schedule. Home office, regular field/customer site visits, and reporting into our Chandler office. Occasional air travel to factories and plants for sales meetings and training.

Physical Demands: 


This job is performed at customer sites and in a home office. While visiting customer sites, you may be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds (e.g., carrying materials or demo equipment). Ability to wear PPE at customer sites when necessary. 

Travel:


50% travel to customer sites within the region (Arizona, Nevada, California). Occasional overnight travel required.
