About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Inside Sales Specialist to join our Life Sciences sales team. This role is critical in driving revenue growth across Crown Bioscience’s full portfolio of pre-clinical and translational oncology services. These include organoids, in vivo and in vitro models, biomarker discovery, human biospecimens, and integrated drug discovery solutions.The Inside Sales Specialist will develop strong client relationships, manage the inside sales cycle, and support business development initiatives with biotech, pharma, and academic researchers worldwide.
By promoting Crown Bioscience’s world-leading preclinical platforms, cancer databases, and precision oncology offerings, this role ensures scientists have the tools they need to accelerate discoveries in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.Importantly, the Inside Sales Specialist will also work with Prendio, a third-party procurement platform for the biotech industry, to help generate biotech leads, manage referrals from their preferred supplier network, and strengthen the partnership relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively identify, qualify, and manage inbound and outbound sales opportunities across Crown Bioscience’s full portfolio (organoids, in vivo/in vitro models, biomarkers, human biospecimens, etc.).
- Manage the full inside sales cycle: lead generation, prospect engagement, needs assessment, quoting, negotiation, and closing.
- Collaborate with SDR’s and field-based Business Development Directors to support client acquisition, account expansion, and long-term growth.
- Serve as the primary inside sales contact for Prendio-generated biotech leads.
- Consistently achieve and exceed assigned sales targets, contributing directly to company revenue goals.
Customer Engagement
- Serve as the first point of contact for researchers, biotech, pharma, and CRO clients seeking preclinical and translational oncology solutions.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships by understanding client needs and recommending tailored Crown Bioscience offerings.
- Deliver accurate and timely information regarding service capabilities, project feasibility, and proposal details.
- Provide outstanding customer service throughout the sales cycle, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with operations, scientific, and project management teams to ensure feasibility, accuracy, and timely delivery of client projects.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, pipeline activity, and forecasts within the CRM system.
- Share market and customer feedback with internal stakeholders to help refine and expand service offerings.
- Collaborate closely with external partners like Prendio to maximize lead generation opportunities and strengthen biotech outreach.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Business, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales, customer success, or business development in life sciences, biotechnology, or CRO sectors.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Self-motivated team player with a proactive approach and passion for supporting oncology research.
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced degree (MSc, MBA, or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field.
- 3+ years of inside sales or business development experience in oncology or precision medicine services.
- Strong understanding of preclinical workflows (organoids, in vivo/in vitro models, biomarkers, biospecimens).
- Experience working with or managing leads from third-party platforms (e.g., procurement networks such as Prendio).
- Background in supporting biotech, pharma, or CRO clients with complex research needs.
