The
Pricing and Profitability Senior Analyst, reports to the Manager, Pricing and Profitability and supports the Direct-to-Consumer (DtC) and Business to Business (B2B) business pricing algorithms, analyzing the parameters that influence the pricing algorithm, applying analytical rigor to trade-off decisions, working with stakeholders across the business to drive profitable growth, ensuring SimpleTire is MAP compliant, and providing insights to the Director, Pricing and Profitability, key channel owners and business leaders.
The successful candidate will be motivated by his or her ability to adjust levers to influence the intended outcome and strategy. This role is highly technical and requires the ability to expertly query and manipulate large datasets using SQL in cloud data warehouses like Snowflake. This candidate will possess strong communication skills and will make recommendations regarding pricing and promotional practices.
Base Pay Range: $90,000 - $115,000/annually
Essential job functions:
- Analyzes market, competitive and manufacturer data to drive testing roadmap and promotion scheduling
- Builds, manages, and optimizes complex SQL queries and scripts, primarily within Snowflake, to execute dynamic pricing strategies and create performance alerts by channel.
- Develops and maintains robust datasets and data models within the data warehouse to support pricing analytics, reporting, and profitability initiatives.
- Maintain MAP prices for SimpleTire platform, ensuring SimpleTire and its marketplaces and B2B are MAP compliant
- Build and streamline MAP processes with safeguards alerting SimpleTire of potential violations
- Works with stakeholders across the business to execute on profitability initiatives (i.e., defining hero products and ensuring adequate inventory, cost and price)
- Builds and automates MAP & pricing reports / alerts as well as completing frequent ad hoc analyses
- Utilizes competitive pricing intelligence to identify pricing gaps and opportunities; perform comparisons to industry/company/benchmarks

Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Degree in finance, analytics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related field is preferred, or relevant equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years of advanced, hands-on experience with SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Proven ability to independently query, extract, and manipulate large, complex datasets from a data warehouse to drive analysis and business recommendations. (ETL experience is a plus).
- Ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong communication skills, leveraging these skills to lead projects made up of cross functional teams that deliver high quality results
- Detailed understanding of P&Ls and how changes in revenue or expense line items lead to adjustments in profit
- Adaptable, resourceful and has creative problem-solving skills
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Talking through the computer for many meetings and one-to-one conversations
- Continuous viewing of a computer monitor and data entry.
- Travel as necessary (<10%).
