Lightspark is building open payments for the Internet—always-on payment solutions powered by Bitcoin, the only open, neutral network for moving value. With enterprise tools like Connect, UMA, and Spark, businesses can send and receive money instantly, securely, and at a fraction of the cost, anytime, anywhere. We are seeking fullstack, crypto, or blockchain engineering interns for summer 2026 to work across multiple languages and platforms to power the next generation of payments. We’re looking for engineers who thrive in high-intensity environments, can adapt quickly, are excited to build on cutting-edge Bitcoin infrastructure, and have fun along the way!
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Assisting with building production services, websites, and applications and learning how we generate SDKs across various platforms and languages
- Learning and coding in Python, Typescript, React, with exposure to other languages like Go, Rust, and Kotlin
- Collaborating with Senior Engineers, Product Management, and Product Design to understand how world-class software is built
- Contributing to services that help bring Bitcoin, stablecoin, and open payments technology to mass adoption
- Growing your skills in a highly collaborative environment
- Gaining experience across different projects from core infrastructure to new features
- Connect with Lightspark team members over provided daily lunches, and build relationships and learnings from experienced engineers
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field, having completed at least 2 years in your program
- At least 1 prior experience in an engineering internship or similar role
- Programming experience through coursework, personal projects, or hackathons to share
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, React, Typescript experience is a plus, but not required)
- Interest in fintech, crypto, or related technologies
- Enthusiasm for learning and problem-solving
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills and willingness to ask questions
- Self-motivated with good time management skills
- Open to feedback and eager to improve
- Living in or near Los Angeles, CA for the duration of the internship. We are an in-office company located in Culver City.
