Overview


The Joint Operations Planner position is a full-time position supporting USCENTCOM’s strategic planning and operational deployment efforts.

Responsibilities


The Joint Operations Planner requires deep expertise in the Joint Operations Planning and Execution System, force deployment analysis, and coordination across joint, multinational, and interagency environments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct research and analysis of full-spectrum operations across joint, multinational, and interagency environments.
  • Develop graphics, written products, and operational analyses that inform USCENTCOM leadership on the evolving strategic landscape.
  • Assess and synchronize DoD, interagency, and multinational operations to ensure alignment with USCENTCOM objectives.
  • Leverage automation tools and computer modeling to enhance operational planning and analysis.
  • Incorporate Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) Time Phased Force Deployment Data (TPFDD) into strategic and operational planning.
  • Coordinate with USTRANSCOM to validate mission feasibility and synchronize deployment activities.
  • Conduct functional analysis of operational plans up to Level 4 detail, including:
  • Level 1 - Commander's Estimate
  • Level 2 - Base Plan
  • Level 3 - Concept Plan
  • Level 4 - Operation Plan

Required Qualifications


  • Minimum 5 years of military experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience using JOPES.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience at a Joint or Combined Command Headquarters.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to visualize complex operational concepts.
  • Proficiency in force deployment planning and strategic coordination.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience supporting USCENTCOM or working within the CENTCOM AOR.
  • Familiarity with USTRANSCOM coordination processes.
  • Expertise with operational modelling, simulation, and analysis tools.
