Description
THE ROLE:
We are seeking a Senior Producer (contract) who is experienced in driving, organizing, and aligning cross-disciplined teams around efficient game design and development. You’ll work closely with the Design Director and other discipline leads to understand direction and translate it into tactical team planning and execution. An ideal candidate is someone who can work independently and effectively with teammates in the studio and across partner teams, think broadly about the product and design direction as well as narrowly on near-term tactical project priorities, and is flexible to adapt their approaches and processes to fit the unique needs of our studio, partners, and game.
WHO YOU ARE:
- A proactive, reliable, and self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- A proven team leader who excels at fostering collaboration between disciplines, especially across design and engineering.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to anticipate the needs of the team before they become blockers. You can draw complex information from teammates to forecast where we're heading, spot challenges, and help the team address them.
- A strong communicator who can distill design direction into actionable plans for cross-functional teams.
- You care about diverse perspectives, seek feedback often, and are an active listener. You champion great organization and communication skills to help the broader team stay aligned.
- You are excited about helping others find the processes that work best for them. You love working on refining processes and breaking down complex requirements into manageable tasks that lead to fun results for our players.
- You believe that having a growth mindset is a pillar to any effective team, frequently experimenting on how to improve and never getting stuck on a specific way of doing things if others propose alternatives.
- You have interest in game design and enjoy collaborative problem solving to realize new, fun experiences for players.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Partner closely with design leadership to understand vision and translate direction into tactical team planning and execution.
- Coordinate across PM internal and external teams to build out capabilities and processes to successfully co-develop game features that meet gameplay goals.
- Working with the team to help improve how we track and plan near-term work across the studio, with an emphasis on empowering team members to plan their work.
- Coordinate dependency planning across studio & partner teams, identifying gaps and risks to help build mitigations to avoid impacting project dates.
- Discuss and document details around how a feature will be implemented, to better understand requirements, dependencies, and timing of work.
- Support Design Director in setup and tracking of playtests, design analytics, user research tests, and community insights to inform development.
- Lead efficient meetings focused on design and gameplay, ensuring clear outcomes and follow-up tasking (e.g., in Jira).
- Proactively identify development process inefficiencies and propose improvements, working across the studio & partner teams to get feedback and build alignment on changes.
- Championing Quality as part of feature development, always ensuring QA has a voice at the table with design.
- Work in partnership with Production Director and producers at internal and external partner teams to maintain schedule and resource alignment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a minimum of 4 years of related game development experience.
- Proven experience in a production role with a strong understanding of game design processes and workflows.
- Experience shipping games on multiple platforms end-to-end (e.g., Xbox, PlayStation, PC).
- Advanced level understanding of the development methodologies of games such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall.
- Advanced level knowledge with project tracking software such as, but not limited to, Jira, Confluence, or Hansoft.
- Skilled at breaking down complex discussions into actionable tasks and deliverables.
- Experience building out capacity plans, forecasting projections and updating schedules/roadmaps for cross-discipline game features and/or projects (e.g. Excel, Project).
- Effective at communicating, both written and verbally, with a wide variety of people and skill sets both inside and outside of the development studio while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Formal education in project management, game design, or Agile certification/training.
- Experience working with remote co-development studios on feature development.
- Experience working with Community Managers to support and gather feedback from game communities.
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine and experience shipping games made with UE.
- Experience working on multiplayer game projects.
