The role of the compliance team is to monitor and maintain adherence to the requirements set out by the government both federally and provincially, as well as the business requirements of our varying commercial agreements.
As a Compliance Analyst, you will help strengthen the organization’s control environment by supporting internal audits, testing key controls, and maintaining accurate documentation. Working closely with various business units, you will identify risks, track remediation efforts, and ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to translate complex compliance standards into practical business processes.What will you do?
- Assist in the execution of internal audits, including scoping, risk assessment, and walkthroughs.
- Perform testing of controls and document audit evidence in accordance with audit standards.
- Track and follow up on remediation activities and management action plans.
- Develop and maintain clear, accurate documentation of policies, procedures, and controls.
- Gather, organize, and archive control evidence to support regulatory and audit requirements.
- Ensure evidence is retained in accordance with data classification and record-keeping standards.
- Participate in periodic control testing across business units to confirm effectiveness.
- Identify control gaps, inefficiencies, or process weaknesses and propose remediation steps.
- Support the development of metrics and reporting to monitor control performance.
- Partner with various business units (e.g., Finance, Sales, IT) to ensure controls are current, accurate, and aligned with evolving business processes.
- Provide guidance and templates to departments, updating controls or designing new ones.
- Act as a subject-matter resource on compliance frameworks, audit expectations, and documentation standards.
- Contribute to risk registers, control libraries, and compliance dashboards.
- Support the implementation of compliance frameworks such as IMMMR (Identify, Measure, Manage, Monitor, Report) and the Three Lines of Defense model.
- Assist in preparing reports for management and governance committees on control effectiveness and audit outcomes.
- Recommend and support process improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and compliance.

- Strong skills in Microsoft suite of products.
- Experience working within the insurance sector.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively present insights across teams.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Proactive and curious mindset with adaptability to new business systems and tools.
- Strong attention to detail.
