As Regional Technical Manager you are responsible for defining the technical strategy together with the Region Manager for our Professional Services offering, and will ensure that our customers are getting the most value using our technology.

The Regional Technical Manager will also make sure all the technical staff in the region has all required knowledge to provide consulting services and training to our customers; he/she will also execute Project Management to make sure Professional Services work is being done in accordance with defined scope to the highest standards. The role will work with the Business Managers, Region Manager and the technical team of the Middle East Region, but will also be in contact with our global Development and Product Management team. This role reports to the Middle East Region Manager of GeoSoftware.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProfessional Services

  • Work with the Business Managers and Region Manager to ensure that our customers are getting the most value using GeoSoftware’s technology to address their needs.
  • Work with Business Managers and Region manager to develop realistic scope and deliverables of professional services.
  • Manage resource allocation to maximize customer satisfaction and professional development of our technical staff.
  • Responsible to ensure the appropriate execution is applied to all professional services.
  • Provide input on ways to improve workflows and the software.
  • Assist with region support efforts to drive customer success while using our technology.
  • Secure appropriate delivery and consumption of the reservoir characterization products by customers to ensure appropriate business impact is generated.

Manage new technology

  • Manage the Region Product Champion (RPC) program
  • Assign Region Product Champions for each GeoSoftware application to ensure the timely introduction of new technology into the Region
  • Be engaged in projects where technology is applied first time
  • Provide active feedback on required software development and problems.
  • Keep track of key technologies that may already exist as well as upcoming technologies.
  • While not preferred, the RTM may be required to serve as RPC for a certain software, in the event there is not another appropriate choice available.
  • Seek to identify innovations in the software business model based on existing or envisioned new technologies.
  • Liaise between Customers and Product Development to align software requests into product development targets

Business

  • Active participation in developing technical strategy alongside the Region Manager.
  • Support sales activities at the highest technical level to help identify new opportunities for the region.
  • Manage the development of proper sales presentations, software demonstrations and software evaluations to support software sales.
  • Seek to identify new opportunities from discussing needs and working on solutions with clients.
  • Collaborate in designing annual regional training program (Internal & External)

Staff Development

  • Owns the Skills Assessment and development for all Technical Advisors (TA) in the region.
  • Reviews staff skill levels with the Region Manager.
  • Works with the Region Manager to identify areas of strength and weakness to accomplish the technical advisory required in the region.
  • Ensures development objectives are input to the appraisal process for all technical staff.
  • Identifies the training required to advance the technical staff to be able meet the needs of the region.
  • Work with Region Manager to ensure that a short term training program and long-term development plan correlate with and are prioritized based on anticipated business opportunities
  • Provide technical training and schedule other required training for all technical staff
  • Provide technical competence recommendations for the hiring of the technical staff

  • Ability to define technical scope of work and timeline based on resources available as part of a technical proposal for professional services.
  • Project Management over multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong technical experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Subject matter expert in Geophysical applications.
  • Ability to communicate with ease at different levels in the organization and with stakeholders with different backgrounds and objectives.
  • Effective communication and people management skills.

Qualifications & RequirementsRequired:

  • Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in Geophysics
  • 15+ years technical experience in geoscience and project management
  • Background as geoscientist in reservoir characterization projects by means of Quantitative Interpretation and Seismic Analysis
  • Commercial and business acumen to support efforts in promoting and eliciting professional services
  • Experience with Jason & HampsonRusell software in reservoir characterization projects using Deterministic (Strata, InverTrace Plus & RockTrace) and Geostatistical (GeoSI, StatMod, RockMod) inversion approaches.
  • Proven work experience in different reservoir types and basins including, clastic, carbonate and, unconventional plays.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently (about 20% of the time)
  • Residing in Alkhobar, Bahrain, or Kuwait.

Desired:

  • Experience in Petrophysics and Rock Physics for reservoir characterization projects is a plus
  • Experience in Multi-component Inversion projects
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary team including Geophycisists, Geologists, Petrophysicists and Reservoir Modelers.
