Training Specialist III – Training Lead

Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver technical and compliance training programs for IT staff and end users.
• Create training materials including manuals, presentations, e-learning modules, and simulations.
• Conduct instructor-led training (ILT), virtual training, and workshops for diverse audiences.
• Assess training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal training requirements, including NIST role-based training and Section 508 accessibility.
• Collaborate with SMEs and program staff to design tailored training for HHS systems and processes.
• Manage training logistics, scheduling, and tracking of learner progress.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and metrics on training program effectiveness.
• Mentor and guide junior training staff.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in instructional design, IT/cybersecurity training, or adult education.
• Proven expertise delivering technical training programs in enterprise or federal environments.
• Experience developing both instructor-led and online learning content.
• Knowledge of federal compliance training requirements including NIST SP 800-53 role-based training and FISMA.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) or equivalent instructional certification preferred.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification desirable for cybersecurity-related training programs.
• Additional certifications in instructional design or adult learning methodologies are highly desirable.
