Position Purpose:
The Senior Learning Specialist plays an important role in Learning Solutions by creating high impact learning content for McLean & Company clients. They will collaboratively create learning experiences using our instructional design process to help drive McLean & Company’s products to be engaging, effective, and market competitive.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Learning Specialist, you will:
- Create learning content within a content development cycle which could include project planning, content storyboarding, digital asset creation, and formal learning evaluation using leading learning theories and technologies.
- Work with the team to enhance products using instructional design and learning experience best practices, collaborating with experienced peers when necessary.
- Author learning content rooted in the findings of McLean & Company’s research, communicating your message using conversational and web-friendly writing skills.
- Design high-impact learning activities and evaluations (formal and informal), ensuring that they are varied to reinforce key concepts and increase knowledge transfer.
- Initiate knowledge sharing within the team by staying on top of industry trends, sharing knowledge and insights with their peers.
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
- 3-5 years’ experience in instructional design, employee training, learning & development.
- University degree or equivalent in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Communications, or Human Resources.
- Strong project and time management skills, able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner.
- Intellectually curious about the effect of HR on the business landscape, with a passion for continuous learning.
- Proven ability to recognize opportunities and find new and better ways to do things, for example leveraging AI.
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and eLearning software (Articulate)skills.
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, flexible, rapidly changing work environment.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the content development teams at consulting, production, or training providers.
- Proven skill in creating highly engaging and impactful learning experiences, from content design to delivery to evaluation.
- Experience working with AI and rapid authoring tools for digital learning experiences.
- Experience handling the administration of learner experiences within a learning management system or learning experience platform.
- Formal certifications or designations in the fields of Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Web Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion, Project Management, or Human Resources.
- In-depth knowledge of current gamification, microlearning, learning simulation, and social learning theories.
