Position Summary


The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the hands-on preparation of the financial statements. The ideal candidate is a motivated professional with a strong sense of urgency, a proven track record in accounting leadership, and a passion for driving financial excellence. This role plays a critical part in supporting the company’s profitable growth by ensuring sound financial practices across all areas of operations.Key responsibilities include assisting with the annual budgeting cycle, supporting year-end audits, and implementing systems that improve financial reporting and compliance.

The Senior Accountant will also collaborate closely with the financial management team to provide accurate reporting and insights that drive informed business decisions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Analyze job profitability, including job cost/WIP reconciliation and analysis.
  • Oversee inventory management and controls.
  • Manage monthly reconciliations.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Oversee general ledger and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage fixed assets.
  • Validate accuracy of the inventory balances at the item and transaction level
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data; produce timely financial statements and reports.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce accounting policies, methods, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and assist with annual audits.
  • Continuously improve processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Maintain organized fiscal files and records to support all transactions.

Qualifications


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • GAAP experience required; Percentage of Completion accounting strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, revenue forecasts, and cash flow statements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; proven ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
