Job Description:
ASG is seeking a Senior Lead Unified Communications UC/VoIP Engineer. This role provides enterprise-level UC/VoIP engineering leadership, ensuring the design, deployment, and sustainment of secure, resilient telephony and voice services across the global operations. The Senior Lead UC/VoIP Engineer will serve as the Tier III escalation point and lead architect for call control, SBCs, gateways, SIP trunking, QoS, and E911 compliance, ensuring integration with enterprise network and security policies.
What You Will Do:
- Leads Telephony / Voice Network Support.
- Architects and deploys enterprise UC/VoIP solutions across multiple sites.
- Installs, configures, and sustains SBCs, gateways, and VoIP endpoints.
- Troubleshoots complex issues with SIP/H.323 signaling, QoS, jitter/latency, and voice encryption/security.
- Manages dial plan design, policy enforcement, and integration with E911 requirements.
- Leads system cutovers, migrations, and upgrades, including rollback planning and documentation.
- Develops and maintains MOPs/MBPs, change records, and runbooks for VoIP/UC operations.
- Collaborates with network, security, and operations teams to ensure voice services integrate seamlessly with the broader DoDIN/DeCA environment.
- Mentors junior and mid-level VoIP engineers, ensuring consistent technical standards across the program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What We Need:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in VoIP/UC engineering, with 5+ years in a senior or lead role.
- Proven experience with enterprise telephony deployments, SIP trunking, and SBC/gateway integration.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in key tasks and high-impact assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and lead major technology initiatives.
- Proven experience evaluating performance outcomes and recommending improvements that drive project success.
- Recognized as a technical expert across multiple projects or domains.
- Travel up to 25% may be required based on project needs.
Certifications
- Must meet DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE).
Clearance:
Active Secret Clearance.
Even Better
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications, or related field.
- CCNP Collaboration (required or strongly preferred).
- Ribbon or AudioCodes SBC certifications.
- E911 compliance training and enterprise dial plan experience.
- Familiarity with DISA UC/VoIP policies, STIGs, and security integration requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership in multi-site migrations, enterprise VoIP design, and Tier III troubleshooting.
