The Opportunity


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our FinOps team. The ideal candidate will have excelled in accounting and finance functions in a fast-paced, high-volume business. You will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance, while supporting the Chief Financial Officer in maintaining the financial health of the business. You will also own key aspects of Honeycomb’s loan repayments system, ensuring payments are made on time and are available for distribution to investors.Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including working closely with our key vendors and supervising our payroll and benefits.
  • Own the loan repayments operations for Honeycomb’s loan portfolio. This includes onboarding new issuers to our repayments platform, collaborating with Operations to schedule and initiate repayments workflows, and managing delinquent and distressed accounts.
  • Collaborate with other departments—including operations and product teams—to improve operational efficiency and ensure healthy funds flow across our repayments lifecycle.
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements. 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and other regulatory requirements specific to the crowdfunding and financial technology sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proven experience managing the AR, AP, and month-end close processes in a startup or technology company or other fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in collections, particularly in a high-volume environment. Experience with loan collections is a significant advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a working understanding of financial regulations relevant to the crowdfunding industry.
  • Proficiency with modern accounting software (e.g.,QuickBooks, Invoiced) and advanced Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and a well organized approach to task management.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
