How You Contribute to Pinnacle Transplant’s Success
The Supervisor/Manager of Donor Intake is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the work of the team that is responsible for the receipt, reconciliation, handling and storage of donated human tissue within the requirements of the AATB Standards, FDA regulations and relevant company procedures. The Supervisor/Manager is responsible for the unprocessed donor tissue inventory, ensuring that all unprocessed tissue within the inventory identified as “UDT” is stored in the appropriate storage units.
In addition, the Supervisor/Manager is responsible for ensuring the traceability, discard, transfer of tissue to the processing operations department, and transfer to other departments is performed in compliance with FDA regulations, AATB Standards and the policies of Pinnacle.Work hours: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (flexible weekend coverage required to support a 7-day team/donor intake)
Onsite position and no relocation provided.

Position is posted as two (2) possible levels to be considered based on the experience the candidate(s) brings:
- Supervisor, Donor Intake
- Salaried/Exempt Position: $65,000 - $75,000
- High School graduate with Associates Degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years’ tissue banking or shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years previous Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with Good Documentation Practices and controlled documents required.
- Manager, Donor Intake
- Salaried/Exempt Position: $75,000 - $90,000
- High School Diploma with a minimum 3-5 years experience, required
- A minimum of 3 years’ donor recovery experience.
- 1+ years previous Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) strongly preferred but not required.
- Prior experience with Good Documentation Practices and controlled documents required.
What You Will Do
- Ensure adequate staffing to meet the needs of the business for the receipt and storage of unprocessed donor tissue provided to Pinnacle by their recovery partners.
- Supervise the staff, and participate as needed, that receive and document unprocessed donor tissue within the systems designated for recording such information.
- Responsible for fulfilling requests by recovery partners for supplies, transportation and other requests relevant to managing incoming and outbound unprocessed donor tissue.
- Reviews and approves invoices from vendors as directed by department leaders.
- Recommends, implements, and supports continuous improvement within the department and the company to improve associate performance, quality control, productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Train staff in equipment operations and work and safety procedures, and human anatomy
- Write and/or revise SOP/Work Instructions as directed by the Quality department in response to operational changes, corrective actions or content improvement. Functions as primary investigator for deviations related to department activities and ensures corrective actions are implemented within the required timeframes.
- Perform procedure/work instruction annual reviews as directed by the Quality department.
- Actively participates in incident and deviation investigations, root cause analysis reports, corrective and preventive actions, as assigned.
- Create, monitor, and evaluate KPI’s/metrics for the work, productivity levels, etc. As well as ensuring the cadence of donor inventory counts and internal supplies are managed accordingly.
- Evaluate individual performance and provide mentoring and discipline to direct reports.
- Provides guidance on staffing requirements, and participates in the interview, hire, and training processes of new associates as required.

- Comply with all applicable OSHA, FDA, cGMP, cGTP, HIPPA, and AATB, and PTT QMS system
- Position requires 24/7/365 on call requirement to respond to ultra low freezer deviations and possible transfer of tissue
- Other duties as assigned by department leadership that may include on call responsibilities, assisting with data projects or charting information, and feedback to agencies.

- Daily written and verbal communication with Donor Intake team to delegate schedules and tasks.
- Responsible for communicating daily priorities to team members and ongoing training for new staff members.

Where You Will Work
- Full Time position (40 hours or more) based in Arizona. Normal hours include planning time and occasional evenings and weekends may be required to perform other tasks outlined in the job description.
- Duties are such that there will be contact with human tissue and bone which may be considered infectious; use of PPE is required in all work areas.
- You will work mostly in a warehouse environment in a manufacturing facility in North Phoenix, having contact with human tissue and subject to ultra-low temperatures. You are required to wear protective clothing including but not limited to hoods, face masks, gloves, boots, and coveralls.
- Your work is physical in nature and requires bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and lifting containers weighing up to 50+ pounds. It will require standing for long periods of time, occasionally exerting up to 20+ pounds of force, and frequently 20+ pounds of force to move objects. It also requires repetitive motion with substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Position requires steel toe/composite toe boots to be worn within the work environment
