Position Description:
The Senior Finance Manager will lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting for aerospace and defense programs, ensuring compliance with U.S. Government regulations and company policies. This role will partner closely with Product Line VP/Directors, program management, operations, contracts, scheduling, EV management, and executive leadership to drive business performance, manage program profitability, and ensure accurate, timely financial data for decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in government contracting, cost accounting, and earned value management, along with proven leadership skills in a high-compliance environment.
This role can be remote/hybrid but may entail up to 50% travel time to various Voyager locations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the development of annual budgets, multi-year forecasts, and long-range financial plans for assigned business units/programs.
- Drive Product Line performance to meet or exceed Annual Operating Plan, as well as implement initiatives to improve proficiency.
- Provide strategic financial insights to senior leadership, enabling informed business decisions and resource allocations.
- Drive process improvements and best practices in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
Program Finance & Compliance
- Oversee financial performance of multiple Aerospace/Defense and Commercial programs, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and internal objectives.
- Utilize Earned Value principles to monitor and analyze program cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and other U.S. Government regulations.
- Support contract pricing, cost proposals, and negotiations in coordination with Contracts and Business Development teams.
- Interface with accounts payable and accounts receivable teams, processes, and/or suppliers.
- Interface with Gov’t and Commercial Customers to develop working relationships.
- When applicable, interface with external accounting teams and/or auditors, and assist in preparation or documentation for any external audits.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executive leadership and corporate stakeholders.
- Analyze variances, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate project cost and revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP and government accounting standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a team of finance analysts and program controllers, providing guidance on Voyager’s financial practices and procedures.
- Promote a culture of accountability, improvement, and cross-functional collaboration, while encouraging team members to contribute new ideas and solutions.
- Provide training on government compliance, program finance, and company financial policies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in aerospace, defense, or other government contracting environments.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and EVMS.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and ERP/MRP systems (e.g. NetSuite, ForProject, MS Project).
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional projects.
Preferred:
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
- Experience in both fixed-price and cost-reimbursable contract environments.
- Prior involvement in DCMA/DCAA audits.

Salary Range: $125,000-$190,000 per year
