In parallel, Razorpay is reimagining how businesses manage money by simplifying business banking (via Razorpay X) and enabling capital availability for businesses (via Razorpay Capital). About the role:This is a key strategic role for an experienced compliance professional to act as asupporting regulatory advisor and operational lead within the regional complianceframework. You will be instrumental in strengthening our control environment,ensuring our policies are robust and audit-proof, and providing the foresight neededfor compliant regional expansion.
Reporting directly to the company’s Local BoardDirector and Head of Compliance for Singapore & Southeast Asia, you will executecritical compliance functions to support the Company’s regulatory efforts.Roles and Responsibilities Compliance Framework Architect: Maintain and enhance the existingcompliance framework, responsible for the development, review, andrefinement of critical policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).You will ensure all documentation is comprehensive, rigorously defensible,and aligned with MAS Notice PSN01 and the Payment Services Act. Risk Intelligence & Assessment: Drive the data collation and strategicanalysis for the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA).
You will assessinherent risks and control effectiveness across all operational pillars, includingcustomer segments, products, geographic locations, and delivery channels, toensure our risk posture is accurately understood and managed. High-Tier Case Adjudication: Serve as the senior adjudication point (L3review) for complex escalations originating from both merchant onboardingand transaction monitoring. This includes conducting Enhanced CustomerDue Diligence (ECDD) reviews, investigating sophisticated typologies, andmaking recommendations on high-risk cases for final approval. System & Control Calibration: Assist in the strategic calibration of ourcompliance systems.
This involves the detailed review, back-testing, andtuning of transaction monitoring rules and name screening parameters toenhance detection accuracy and operational efficiency. You will document therationale for all proposed changes to ensure a clear audit trail. Regional Expansion & Licensing Support: Conduct in-depth research andanalysis of the regulatory landscapes across Southeast Asia. You will providecritical intelligence for new licensing initiatives, assist in the preparation ofapplication materials for submission to regional regulators, and supportleadership by providing assistance for regulatory interviews and meetings.Required Capabilities Experience: A minimum of 6-8 years of dedicated compliance, legal, or riskmanagement experience within a regulated financial institution.
Experience inthe payments sector is highly advantageous. Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of the Singaporean regulatoryframework, including the Payment Services Act 2019 and MAS NoticePSN01, and their operational application. You must possess proven expertisein AML/CFT, Customer Due Diligence (CDD/KYC), transaction monitoring,and sanctions screening. Strategic Acumen: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with theability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionableoperational procedures.Mandatory Qualifications: Additional consideration will be given to candidates who areACAMS or ICA certified, or who are legally trained. Personal Attributes: You must be a highly accountable, self-motivatedindividual with strong organisational skills and the ability to operate withprecision under pressure.
