About the position:
We are currently seeking a Staff Data Architecture Consultant with significant expertise in Snowflake to lead complex data migrations and serve as an advisor to our clients who are facing data-related challenges. This person will need to seamlessly transition between pre-sales meetings, delivering complex technical architectures, and defining strategic goals and roadmaps for the business. We are looking for someone to help improve our data migration offerings, leveraging the capabilities of Snowflake, and position our organization for long-term success with our data-driven clients.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Client Advisory and Strategic Consulting:
- Lead complex data migrations to Snowflake in highly regulated data environments.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business challenges and translating them into actionable data strategies.
- Conduct thorough assessments of client data environments and identify opportunities for optimization using Snowflake.
- Develop and present strategic data roadmaps, outlining key initiatives and timelines to achieve client business goals.
- Lead pre-sales engagements, demonstrating the value of Snowflake and our data management services to prospective clients.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Snowflake Architecture and Implementation:
- Design and implement scalable and efficient data architectures within the Snowflake Data Cloud.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) within Snowflake.
- Configure and manage Snowflake features, including virtual warehouses, data sharing, and security.
- Provide technical expertise on Snowflake best practices, such as performance tuning and cost optimization.
- Data Management and Governance:
- Establish and enforce data governance policies & procedures within highly-regulated environments.
- Provide guidance on data security and compliance requirements within Snowflake.
- Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy.
- Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata management best practices.
- Collaboration and Thought-Leadership:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, project management, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Mentor junior engineers, foster an environment of continuous learning, and leverage innovation to strengthen data consulting offerings.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in the Snowflake portfolio, complementary ISVs, and cloud data platforms, driving innovation by sharing knowledge with clients and internal teams
Competencies we are looking for:
- Minimum Requirements:
- SnowPro Core Certification
- 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and migrating cloud-based data architectures
- 5+ years of experience with Snowflake data warehousing, advanced data modeling, performance optimization, security configurations, Snowpipe, and data sharing
- 4+ years of experience consulting on complex data migration projects leveraging Snowflake
- 4+ years of experience developing and managing ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines for Snowflake, using tools such as Airflow and DBT
- The ability to understand client requirements, build relationships, and deliver tailored solutions that meet their specific data needs
- Meticulous attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills when designing high-quality data models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members and clients
- Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineering Certification preferred
- Leadership qualities to guide and inspire team members and stakeholders in achieving goals
