Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Networking & Hardware Support Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our network and hardware systems, supporting both internal teams and client-facing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Ensure optimal performance and security of the network infrastructure.
- Hardware Support: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, including servers, workstations, and peripheral devices.
- Technical Support: Provide timely and effective support to end-users for network and hardware-related issues. Document and track incidents using ticketing systems.
- System Monitoring: Monitor network performance and hardware health, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the software development and IT teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with application requirements and performance standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network configurations, hardware inventories, and support activities.
- Training & Mentorship: Assist in training junior IT staff and end-users on best practices for hardware and network usage.Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a networking and hardware support role, preferably within an IT services environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are good to have.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), hardware troubleshooting, and familiarity with network monitoring tools.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and network issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Certifications: Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Security+, or similar advanced certifications.
- Experience with Virtualization: Familiarity with virtualized environments and cloud platforms.
- Scripting Skills: Knowledge of scripting languages for automation tasks is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in a software development or IT services company with a focus on infrastructure support.
