Business Insider is hiring an Account Director to join our Finco team to cover the Industrials category.

The Role & Team:
As an Account Director you will lead the Industrials category. This category is specific to companies in manufacturing, logistics, transportation, energy, and B2B services that support the movement of goods, infrastructure, and operations. The Account Director reports directly to SVP, Sales and sits on the Finco Team. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with decision-makers (often procurement, marketing, and corporate comms teams in Industrials).
- Act as the primary point of contact, ensuring the client’s needs are understood and met.
Revenue Growth
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities (e.g., adding new media products, expanding into other regions/brands).
- Hit or exceed revenue targets tied to Industrials portfolio.
Strategic Planning
- Develop account plans tailored to each client’s industry challenges and business objectives.
- Present insights and solutions aligned to client goals (e.g., market expansion, reputation management).
The Ideal Candidate Has:
- 5–8 years in account management, partnerships, or media sales — ideally in B2B industries (manufacturing, logistics, energy, or professional services).
- Direct experience managing enterprise-level accounts with complex organizational structures.
- Proven ability to hit revenue goals, manage renewals, and grow accounts through upselling/cross-selling.
- Familiarity with longer sales cycles (procurement-driven, RFP-based).
Salary & Benefits:
- Base salary: $140,000 - $150,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
