About the Role: 


The Maintenance Planner & Scheduleris responsible for the development, planning, oversight, and scheduling of equipment availability, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure on time development, production, and testing, in an efficient and reliable state of GMP compliant control of the Hearth.  This role requires a proven, organized and efficient time manager with a collaborative interpersonal skills set.  This role offers an opportunity to drive support activities that are vital to the maturing Forge Biologics business and evolving field of gene therapy.

What You'll Do:


  • Manage externally performed maintenance for GMP and non-GMP assets
  • Works closely with contractors and vendors performing onsite maintenance. Escorts vendor/contractor to the job location.  Ensures all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality compliant procedures
  • Reviews and approves completed work from the contractor/vendor, including record review and verification of documentation in accordance with GDP (Good Documentation Practice) standards
  • Uploads completed work and all applicable documentation into the Blue Mountain CMMS per defined standard work
  • Ensures equipment availability and readiness for maintenance by partnering with GMP Documentation/BMRAM Administration to coordinate equipment availability and staging status
  • Ensures spare parts and maintenance kits are available and onsite prior to the start of work
  • Supports spare parts program (stocking parts, obtaining quotes and monthly reconciliation)
  • Supports contractor management program and evaluates performance based upon completed work
  • Ensures equipment is returned to service in a GMP compliant readiness state to the asset owner
  • May support check-outs and equipment restart
  • Supports CMMS Work order data entry and review process
  • Reviews vendor / contractor contracts / purchase orders for work deliverable alignment and accuracy
  • Closely aligned with Site Maintenance Planner/Scheduler on upcoming work
  • Manages the equipment ship out program (manages obtaining assets and shipping to vendor and schedule for return to the site). Maintains accuracy in the CMMS as it relates to the asset status
  • Supports Plant & Reliability Engineering and Maintenance as required
  • Build effective partnerships with internal stakeholders to drive the business towards achieving company objectives
  • Exhibits professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflect positively on the company and is consistent with company policies and cultural values

What You'll Bring:


  • 3+ years of experience coordinating equipment maintenance scheduling and managing contractor/vendor work, preferably in a regulated environment (GMP, FDA or similar)
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of maintenance processes and general understanding of equipment being maintained by external services
  • Knowledge in supporting a spare parts programs/systems
  • Ability to interpret work orders, service contracts, and equipment maintenance documentation
  • Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work the hours necessary to support production activities
  • Ability to work in loud noise environments and in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Physical Requirements:


  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds of materials or equipment
  • Requirement to gown into Classified Areas of the facility (ISO 7 and 8 sterile gowning)
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly as required
