Job Overview


The Production Supervisor is a key member of the Management team and responsible for improving the quality, delivery, and operational efficiency of the business by monitoring, identifying opportunities for excellence, and using analytical methodologies to implement improvements. This individual will work directly with the team members in each area and develop continuous improvement projects focused on driving waste out of our processes and implementing sustainable change. A fast paced, active and hands on role that will contribute to the overall success and objectives of the department and wider business.

Job Duties and Expectations:


  • Prepare production schedules and monitor to ensure that they are implemented in a timely manner to meet both internal      and external customer expectations.
  • Support Production Manager with strategic plans 
  • Attend daily production meetings and update on any issues which could cause a delivery date to be missed.
  • Ensure that products meet specification and quality standards.
  • Ensure efficient use of manpower and machinery, minimize downtime, and maximize machine run rates.
  • Make recommendations and partner with the Quality team and Continuous Improvement liaison to implement effective and      efficient production methods, equipment performance and quality of      product.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of new and replacement employees, supported by HR.
  • Maintain a motivated work force and develop employees to reach their full potential. 
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company's Health & Safety Policies.
  • Maintain ADP via attendance record management, approving time and attendance, editing employee schedules, generating      reports, managing labor hours, and maintain employee’s information.
  • Work collaboratively with other Production Supervisors to ensure success across all production lines.
  • Responsible for identifying training and development requirements within the department.
  • Work with Trainers to identify learning and skill gaps.
  • Ensure the team maintain the highest process standards, including standards of cleanliness and good housekeeping.
  • Produce work to service level agreements and agreed quality standards.
  • Manages personnel by holding them accountable to achieving their area objectives.
  • Addresses employee issues through effective performance management and according to company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and implements production processes to ensure effective results and optimal workflow efficient in      accordance with company goals and objectives.
  • Suggest and/or implements changes to increase efficiency of manpower and of production flow, i.e., working conditions,      use of equipment, scheduling, quality.
  • Demonstrates the core values of District Photo Inc.
  • Respond and escalate any safety related matters that cannot be resolved within the team.
  • Engage with the risk assessment of line processed and team tasks, implementing and monitoring agreed      countermeasures and mitigation plans to address identified risks.
  • Work with the Safety Manager and Safety Team to reduce DART rates year on year.
  • Determine and execute KPIs to reduce product mixes and wastes

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; 3 + years’ experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity working in production, manufacturing, or distribution and fulfillment environment preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills while operating with a “can-do” attitude.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills and attention to details.
  • Foster open and collaborative ways of working.
  • Documentation and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to lead and motivate employees thru consistent, effective, and fair methods.
  • Ability to achieve metric objectives within headcount and scheduling guidelines.
  • Must be able to interact at all levels and be a team player.
  • Effectively communicate and coach team members to drive company culture through personal best practice.
  • Quality awareness and focus oriented.
  • Daily output against target.
  • Extended hours during peak season (Oct-Dec). 

Working Conditions:


· Significant walking, bending, standing.· Physical activities including but not limited to reaching, pulling, pushing, gripping, grabbing, and must be able to lift up to 50lbs.· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
