Job Title: Lead Case ManagerEffective Date:8/22/2025Reports to: Housing Program ManagerPay Range: $32.69-$39.74Status:☒ Full Time ☐ Part Time ☒ Regular ☐ TemporaryFLSA: ☐Exempt ☒ Non-ExemptJob Summary:The Lead Case Manager is a key leadership role within Chief Seattle Club’s Housing Department, responsible for providing direct case management services, operational oversight, and staff support across multiple housing programs including Rapid Rehousing (RRH), Eviction Prevention (EVP), Diversion (DIV), and Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH).
This position ensures continuity of care and operations, especially during the absence of the Housing Program Manager.The Lead Case Manager serves as the primary point of contact for case managers needing guidance, supports the implementation of evidence-based practices, and helps maintain program performance standards. This role also offers a unique opportunity for professional development, preparing the Lead for future management responsibilities.Essential Job Functions:Staff Support & Supervision
- Provide consistent, field-based guidance and mentorship to case managers.
- Serve as acting supervisor in the absence of the Housing Program Manager.
- Ensure daily office operations run smoothly and on schedule.
Program Oversight
- Monitor service delivery across RRH, EVP, Diversion, EHV, and Streets to Home programs.
- Assist with program administration, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
- Represent the Housing Department in internal and external meetings.
Service Delivery
- Conduct individualized needs assessments and develop permanent housing plans.
- Provide ongoing case management and follow-up to ensure housing stability.
- Coordinate services with Chief Seattle Club partners and external agencies.
- Training & Development
- Support new staff in service delivery best practices and organizational procedures.
- Model trauma-informed, culturally competent care in all interactions.
- Facilitate internal workshops and contribute to staff development initiatives.
Performance & Compliance
- Ensure program goals are met, including:
- 80–90% permanent housing exit rate.
- 95% retention rate at 6 months post-exit
- Maintain accurate records in HMIS/Clarity and other systems.
- Support budget tracking for move-in costs, subsidies, etc.
Safety
- Support resident safety by responding appropriately to emergencies, reporting hazards or incidents promptly, and modeling safe practices in alignment with agency policies and trauma-informed care principles. Completion of all safety-related trainings. May be asked to participate in safety meetings.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
- Collaboration with internal departments and external partners and agencies.
- Perform other duties as situation requires or as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Education: A bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, human services, or a closely related field is typically preferred. Experience may be substituted in lieu of education.Experience:
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years of professional experience in case management or a directly related field.
- Familiarity with Coordinated Entry for All (CEA) and King County Regional Homelessness Authority systems.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, trauma-informed environment.
Licenses/Certifications: Certified Case Manager (CCM) or training in trauma-informed practices.Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Calendar).
Soft Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working with American Indian and Alaska Native community is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements: This role is primarily performed in an office setting, with occasional local travel required to attend meetings, trainings, and provide outreach services in the community. The position may involve prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and phone communication. Flexibility is essential, as the work environment can be fast-paced and emotionally demanding due to frequent interaction with individuals experiencing significant hardship.
