The Internal Audit team plays a critical role in maintaining this trust by evaluating and improving operational processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.This is an exciting opportunity to be a founding member of our Internal Audit team. Shaping its direction, building foundational processes, and making a lasting impact on how we operate.As a SeniorInternal Audit Analyst focused on our Risk, Compliance, and Platform Integrity operations, you will assess critical workflows and internal controls, analyze operational trends, and provide actionable insights to improve efficiency and mitigate potential issues.
You’ll conduct audit reviews across various teams, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver findings that help shape smarter, more resilient operational practices.This is an incredibly rewarding job where you’ll be challenged to think critically, work methodically, and continuously develop new skills all while helping to ensure GoFundMe remains a safe place to give online.
The Job
- Assist with execution of end-to-end audit and advisory engagements across operations teams (e.g., Risk, Compliance, Platform Integrity, Regulatory Governance).
- Collaborate with the Director of Internal Audit to develop and refine a dynamic, risk-based audit plan aligned with business priorities.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify process improvement, control enhancement, and technology enablement opportunities.
- Apply process improvement techniques (e.g., process mapping, root cause analysis, gap assessments) to enhance control design and operational efficiency.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations clearly through written reports and presentations, and partner with stakeholders to secure and track remediation plans.
- Champion modern audit practices to improve audit quality and efficiency.
- Develop understanding of the function of the Global Operations team within GoFundMe and how they relate to each other.
- Help build the foundation of the Internal Audit function, contributing to the development of methodologies, tools, and a strong culture of accountability and risk awareness.
You
- 3-5 years of experience in internal auditing or a related field.
- CIA or active progression towards a relevant certification, preferred.
- Proven experience in evaluating, documenting, and improving internal controls.
- Strong knowledge of business operations and a passion for staying current on regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a distributed, global workforce in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Strong project management, time management, and independent planning skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Open to feedback with a self-reflective and improvement-oriented mindset.
- Strong performer, able to meet deadlines while balancing different priorities.
- Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
- Strong adaptability to changes.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)

As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US.
