Full-timeDescriptionThe Instrument Service Technician will provide in-house support all aspects of the Instrumentation and Automantion sales and service business unit. This will include, and not limied to, assembling and reconfiguring of Honeywell SmartLine inventory, to meet customer’s order requirements plus troubleshooting, repair and calibration.
Position Responsibilities
· The Instrumnet Service Technician will provide the highest level of customer service and support our service and repair business as well as to other business units where needed. ·
Responsibilities
· Inbound repair evaluations, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, certification reports and certificates.· Enter and update orders on the ERP system and other technical files as needed.· Provide assembly, configuration and calibration of Value Added Model orders. (VAM orders) · Must be able to provide training to new hires when needed.· Maintain tools and equipment in clean serviceable condition and calibrations current.
- Must maintain all work areas in a professional appearance which includes regular cleaning organizing of immediate work areas and other assigned areas throughout the shop and warehouse.
Requirements
· High school diploma, trade school or equivalent. Must possess knowledge of industrial instrumentation related to level, pressure, temperature and flow measurements as well as process control, burner management and data acquisition. The incumbent needs to have 2 years of formal training or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience and discipline in these specific areas.· Must understand the application and be able to use pressure, vacuum and temperature calibration equipment to troubleshoot and calibrate Industrial Instrumentation.· Must understand the application and be able to use general electronics test equipment used to test and troubleshoot instrumentation, i.e.
Voltmeters, Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Hi Pot Tester, Environmental Chamber, ect..· Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, schematics, product specifications and product manuals.· Must be able to evaluate product failures and provide customers with oral or written failure reports with repair cost estimates.· Must be computer literate and be able to proficiently use Windows operating system, E-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, order management software, configuration and calibration software tools. P21 knowledge is a plus.· Must possess critical thinking skills in the selection of alternative methods or approaches to the solution of problems.· Must be a self starter and take initiative to get the job done with little or no direct supervision.· Must have good communication skills with fellow empoyees, customers, vendors and company sales personnel.· Must be able and available to cross train into other value add activities.· Must have initiative beyond tasks that are routine.
Cross Training
Candidate must be willing to participate in cross training that can include but not limited to the following: · Transmitters both wired and wireless· Process instrumentation, i.e. controllers and recorders · Configuration, calibration and related hardware/software tools · Tig welding of capillary connections. · Filling diaphragm seal / capillary assemblies.· High pressure leak testing· Valve bubble testing· Positive material identification (PMI) testing
Physical Requirements
· May involve bending and lifting up to 45 pounds with out mechanical assistance· Involves frequent hand use to inspect and repair parts and equipment· Significant standing and some walking is required up to 8 hours a day NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
