Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced People & Culture Generalist to manage HR operations on-site in our Bali office of approximately 160 employees.
This is a hands-on, operational role with responsibility for aligning local practices to our global P&C strategy while tailoring them to meet local needs. The role will focus on HR operations & technology, payroll & benefits and providing operational excellence to our people and managers across the end-to-end employee lifecycle.We are at a stage in our operational growth where we are building global foundations across the employee experience to create a unified global function, experience and culture. This role will be expected to contribute to both global and local initiatives, ensuring alignment while addressing the unique needs of the Bali office.Our longer-term ambition (2+ years) is to evolve this position into a business partner role.
However, our immediate focus is to stabilise operational foundations and achieve operational excellence before moving to the next stage.A core element of this role will be to work closely with local managers, providing relevant labour law guidance and advice to ensure compliance and support sound decision-making. This is a proactive, hands-on role that requires anticipating needs, resolving issues before they escalate, and delivering initiatives that improve operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Policy
- Ensure alignment with the global HR strategy while adapting processes for Bali’s local requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in compliance with Indonesian labour laws and Hosting.com standards.
- Oversee implementation, adoption, and maintenance of HRIS tools, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.
- Provide guidance to managers on policy interpretation, compliance, performance management, and HR best practices.
Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
- Manage accurate and timely payroll processing in Talenta, covering salaries, bonuses, shift allowances, and statutory contributions.
- Liaise with payroll and Finance teams to reconcile payroll reports, ensure tax compliance, and maintain data integrity.
- Administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with BPJS, tax, and labour regulations.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Support recruitment efforts for Bali roles, partnering with hiring managers to ensure quality hires.
- Manage onboarding processes that provide a smooth and positive transition for new employees.
Employee Relations & Management
- Act as a trusted, approachable partner who listens to employee concerns and balances their needs with management expectations.
- Provide direction and coaching to the HR Assistant, ensuring resources are used effectively.
- Resolve workplace issues promptly, fairly, and discreetly.
- Represent the Bali office in global HR meetings and communicate local needs to the global HR team.
- Identify compliance risks and employee issues early, managing them discreetly and escalating when necessary.
- Partner with Legal on compliance and regulatory matters.
