Maintenance Supervisor(Direct Placement for Client)


Sigma Design has collaborated with a manufacturing company seeking an experienced Lead Facilities Engineer to join their facility in White Salmon, WA. This company is known for its expertise in creating high-performance, lightweight, and durable components used in a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, sports equipment, and industrial applications.

What Is Offered:


  • Employer contributes 84% of the employee only cost of medical plus a $1250/year Health Savings Account contribution.

 Primary Function:


The Lead Facilities Engineer is responsible for the general repairs and maintenance of custom machinery and mechanical equipment as well as fabrication of new custom equipment.  Works with engineering to analyze methods and manufacturing process problems to determine root cause and corrective actions. Performs work on gearboxes, rigging, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, screw compressors, vacuum pumps, fluid pumps, autoclaves, ovens, electrical troubleshooting, digital and analog instrumentation, and controls.  Fabrication responsibilities include fabrication, design input, assembly, welding (TIG/MIG/Arc), hydraulic, pneumatic & controls of specialized equipment.

Additional work lighting systems, HVAC unit freezers and light carpentry, machining, and machine building. 

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:


  • Performs equipment repairs as necessary to ensure continued production flow
  • Provides preventative maintenance of equipment to include development of plan and documentation compliance
  • Fabricates parts to maintain/repair equipment
  • Responsible for fabrication of new equipment; hydraulic, pneumatic, wiring, controls, assembly & welding
  • Performs facility maintenance as needed
  • Troubleshoots breakdown of equipment
  • Participates in the continuous review of the manufacturing processes, focusing on opportunities for improvement in productivity, quality, and cost reduction
  • Assists engineering in design development process
  • Effectively manages job stress and interacts effectively with others in the workplace
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
  • Interface with equipment operators, work order originators and engineering staff to complete assignments
  • Function independently as well as part of a team
  • Mechanically repair equipment
  • Basic electrical wiring
  • Perform proficiently in Word and Excel
  • Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of mathematics
  • Work mainly day shifts and occasional off shift as needed, as well as weekend overtime
  • Weld on steel and aluminum (MIG/TIG/Arc)
  • Perform proficiently in operation of manual machining equipment (mill, lathe, drill press)

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)


  • Minimum of three years experience in a manufacturing environment.  Experience may include a combination of technical school, college instruction and/or work experience.
  • PLC knowledge is preferred; will provide on the job training
  • Any combination of the experience, education, training, and requirements listed above which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position may be considered by management. 
  • Compliance (background check, ITAR, vaccine, etc.)
  • ITAR - Permanent resident of the United States (“U.S. person” as defined by ITAR)
  • Background and drug screen - pass a post-offer background verification and drug screen.

Work Environment


Shop:

Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
