Position Description:


The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all incoming, in-process, and final products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and Voyager Technologies’ quality system requirements. This role supports manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance with AS9100 and applicable military/aerospace standards.

  • Follow and execute Voyager Technologies’ Quality Policy, System Procedures, and Operations Manuals.
  • Ensure all work complies with AS9100 and customer contractual quality requirements.
  • Perform Receiving, In-Process, Source, and Final Inspections of electronic assemblies, subassemblies, mechanical parts, and components.
  • Verify compliance with customer design documentation, engineering drawings, and applicable industry standards.
  • Interpret and apply IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and other relevant standards for accept/reject criteria.
  • Utilize magnification, microscopes, and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, indicators, calipers, comparators) during inspections.
  • Support testing for ESD avoidance and particulate level control, including test witnessing.
  • Conduct on-site laboratory, production, and process audits to verify compliance with documented procedures and standards.
  • Approve and process conforming materials according to established procedures.
  • Reject, tag, and quarantine suspect or nonconforming materials.
  • Complete all rejection and nonconformance documentation in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Work with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of process improvements.
  • Record and maintain accurate inspection data in Voyager Technologies’ systems.
  • Maintain inspection records to meet AS9100 traceability requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas that reflect Voyager Technologies’ quality standards.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Quality Department.

Qualifications & Requirements


  • Proficiency in IPC-A-610 Class 3 and IPC J-STD-001 Class 3 inspection requirements (current certification preferred).
  • Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable/Wire Harness Acceptance).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and military/aerospace quality requirements.

Experience


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment (military/aerospace preferred).
  • Skilled in inspection of soldered electrical/electronic assemblies, PCB assemblies, and mechanical parts.

Technical Skills


  • Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers, comparators).
  • Experienced in using magnifying and microscopic inspection equipment.
  • Communication & Organizational Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.

Education


  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Technical training in electronics, quality control, or related field preferred.
  • Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with quality database systems.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
