Overview.ai builds AI-powered vision systems that automate inspection on factory floors. Our customers include global leaders like Tesla, SpaceX, Amazon, Honda, and NVIDIA. We’re a fast-growing startup backed by top-tier investors, on a mission to bring the power of cutting-edge AI to manufacturing worldwide.While we are fundamentally a software company, we sell a hardware/software product and handle the implications of inventory and physical goods. We also operate in several different countries with dedicated entities abroad.
The complexity has increased quickly as we are expecting a 6x increase in sales this year relative to last year.
The Role
You will be our first dedicated finance person, handling all our financial planning, operations, and compliance. Because you’re joining early, you’ll be building our finance systems from the start. Your work will directly affect how we grow into new markets.
What You’ll Do
- Review month end books prepared by our external accountants in Quickbooks
- Prepare and maintain group consolidated financial accounts on a monthly basis
- Maintain our forecast and business model comparing actuals and budget each month highlighting discrepancies and re-forecasting when necessary
- Prepare financial reports and KPI dashboards for the leadership team and investors
- Manage our cash flow and foreign exchange exposure
- Oversee payroll, bills, payments and invoicing
- Prepare financial materials for fundraising, set up and maintain the data room and help manage relationships with legal counsel
- Oversee the integration of Zoho inventory with Quickbooks and ensure the inventory assets, revenue and cost of sales are accurately in the accounts
- Oversee the finances for our offices in Mexico and, later, Taiwan and China
- Prepare and manage the consolidation of all entities
- Oversee tax and compliance across the group pulling in our external experts where needed to optimise global operations and cash flow
- Manage all tax and accounting filings ensuring they are all submitted and paid on time
You Might Be a Fit If You…
- At least 5+ years experience in Finance
- Have a good handle on accounting, forecasting, and financial operations
- Have experience using QuickBooks (or similar)
- Are comfortable managing finances for offices in different countries and currencies
- Are comfortable being the in house expert on the compliance issues associated with running foreign entities
- Have dealt with the complexities of managing cash flow for a product business that trades all over the world
- Can explain financial topics in a concise and simple way
- Want to build new processes, not just maintain existing ones
