The Role:


We’re looking for an early-career Software Development Engineer (L3) to join our Mountain View HQ. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role where you’ll work alongside senior engineers, product managers, and data scientists to design, build, and deliver AI-powered commerce solutions, starting with Ally.

Location / Travel:


This is a hybrid role with expectations that you are working from the office 3 days a week (typically Monday-Wednesday)

What You'll Do:


  • Build features from the ground up: Contribute to the design and implementation of backend services (Java preferred; Python also welcome) and participate in full-stack development.
  • Learn AI development hands-on: Work with large-language-model APIs and other AI/ML tools, writing code that integrates AI directly into our products.
  • Collaborate across time zones: Partner with our Bangalore-based engineering team to ensure alignment on architecture, delivery, and quality.
  • Grow technical skills: Participate in design reviews, write high-quality code, and gain experience with best practices in testing, security, and scalability.
  • Deliver impactful work: Ship features that are quickly adopted by customers and directly improve their ecommerce performance.

What You'll Bring:


  • 1–2 years of hands-on software engineering experience (internships and co-op work will be considered).
  • Proficiency in Java or a similar JVM language; exposure to Python and/or AI/ML frameworks is a plus.
  • Some experience building backend or full-stack applications, either in professional settings or personal projects (we especially love to see any contributions that you have on Github or Stackoverflow).
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), microservices, and modern development practices like CI/CD is helpful.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

Compensation and Benefits: 


The typical base pay range for this role across the US is USD: $147,000 - $166,000/per year.    This base pay range may be inclusive of several career levels at CommerceIQ and will be narrowed based on a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.  Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at CommerceIQ. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock options, as well as potential discretionary bonuses.
