Essential Functions: The Power BI Developer and Data Modeler is responsible for designing and implementing Power BI reports, dashboards, KPIs, and trend and predictive visuals. With at least 5 years of relevant experience, the successful candidate will ensure the usability and effective delivery of insights to stakeholders via Power BI Service.
The role also includes building and optimizing dataflows, managing connections to external systems such as CRM, ArcGIS, and Qualtrics, and preparing data for analysis.
- Design Reports and Dashboards:
- Develop and implement Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights and meet business requirements.
- Design KPIs, trend analysis, and predictive visuals to support data-driven decision-making.
- Usability and Delivery of Insights:
- Ensure reports and dashboards are user-friendly and accessible to stakeholders.
- Deliver insights effectively through Power BI Service, ensuring timely and accurate data presentation.
- Build and Optimize Dataflows:
- Develop dataflows to ensure efficient and scalable data processing.
- Continuously optimize dataflows for improved performance and reliability.
- Manage Connections to External Systems:
- Establish and manage connections to systems such as CRM, ArcGIS, and Qualtrics for seamless data integration.
- Ensure secure and reliable data exchange across platforms.
- Prepare Data for Analysis:
- Design and implement data preparation processes to ensure data is ready for in-depth analysis.
- Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Performance Tuning:
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Power BI reports and dashboards to enhance system performance.
- Identify potential performance issues and implement solutions proactively.
- Technical Documentation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for dataflows, connections, and report designs.
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure that all Power BI solutions and data processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Implement security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and maintain system integrity.
Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Power BI and data management.
- Expertise in Power BI, including report and dashboard design, data modeling, and DAX.
- Proficiency in managing connections to external systems such as CRM, ArcGIS, and Qualtrics.
- Strong understanding of SQL and data preparation techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust or similar security investigation.
Desired Knowledge/Skills
- Experience in the government contracting industry.
- Certifications in Power BI or related business intelligence tools and technologies.
