Position Overview:
The Client Service Representative is an entry-level role within the Client Services team, working under supervisor guidance and established practices. This position is primarily responsible for the timely and systematic collection of accounts receivable for assigned payors, with the goal of increasing cash flow and reducing accounts receivable (A/R) days. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct follow-up with insurance companies on denied and rejected claims; address non-payment of claims per company guidelines.
- Verify insurance coverage eligibility through various means.
- Investigate and follow up on unpaid, self-pay, and/or litigation accounts using provided resources.
- Communicate with self-pay patients to arrange payment of outstanding balances and establish payment plans per pre-established procedures.
- Collect outstanding balances on patient accounts in accordance with Coronis Health’s collection procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
- Process mail from physicians, insurance companies, and patients related to outstanding accounts.
- Prepare and process Credit Status Reports, initiating adjustments such as referrals to collections, write-offs, and insurance adjustments according to guidelines.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss issues, process changes, and collection enhancements.
- Identify trends and issues with payors, invoice setups, or end-user errors and escalate to the AR Manager, Team Lead, or Job Account Managers.
- Update Client-Specific Requirement Notes and dictionaries as needed.
- Assist with training and cross-training of newer staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health insurance billing/collections.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a physician, medical insurance, or collections environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to read handwritten and typed documents on paper and computer screens.
