Full-timeDescriptionAs a Packaging Category Manager, you will report to a Director on our Member Advisory team, where you will be responsible for ensuring that PA’s Members are receiving outstanding support from PA and our network of supplier partners. Every day is different, but you can expect to: • Be the Subject matter expert for your portfolio of Member accounts, having knowledge of their organization structure, site operations, relevant spend, opportunities, and risks, and developing relationships with key procurement leaders and influencers. • Support the Member Advisor team on smaller or lower touch Packaging Members, and ensure they have the resources to drive those Members to success.? • Develop and execute plans to meet and exceed annual goals for organic growth and Member retention through PA programs. • Minimize Member attrition by continuously demonstrating responsiveness, anticipation of needs, and delivery of value above and beyond expectations. • In conjunction with PA supplier partners and our internal data analytics team, identify and gain Member buy in for programs and projects that deliver meaningful results while growing PA’s wallet share, including: o Conversion of non-PA spend to new and existing PA programs o Consolidation of suppliers and offerings across Member operations o Education of site buyers on good purchasing practices • Leverage project management skills to build and maintain consensus with Members on project goals, critical issues, implications, recommendations, and implementation plans. • Own the supplier relationship for PA for Packaging and Freight suppliers, in connection with your VP.
Conduct QBR’s, stay informed of new offers, support marketing material and case study creation. • Engage your leadership where appropriate. • Mitigate Member concerns and issues related to supply and service level from PA suppliers. • Have deep knowledge of all PA programs, including value proposition, contractual mechanics, commercial terms, and responsibilities of all parties. • Develop strong working relationships with Supplier representatives. RequirementsThis person is instrumental to both supporting our Members and providing sound direction and expertise to our Member Advisory team members.
Qualified candidates must meet a set of criteria we deem essential for both of those responsibilities: • Ability to project poise, confidence, and professional maturity in both internal and external situations; engaging and concise with good interpersonal “presence”, comfortable both in the C-suite and team room setting • Experience managing a packaging portfolio in a corporate procurement role • Knowledge of Packaging products and applications in manufacturing operations • Rigorous analytical skills, ability to excel at solving problems that require sound logical reasoning, creative thinking, fluency with numbers, and ability to untangle complex issues • Highly motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, committed, and inclusive team player • Ability to exercise business judgement, communicate persuasively and generate insights to build trusting Member relationships • Flexibility and ability to serve and address a wide range of Member types and manage multiple members and priorities • Articulate and compelling verbal, written, and presentation skills are vital • Great colleague, teammate, and mentor; passionate about the task at hand and fun to be around? • Undergraduate from a competitive program with strong academic results; Masters/MBA desirable • Other desirable experience: o Exposure to both corporate and site operations in a manufacturing organization o Experience developing, deploying, and driving compliance to purchasing strategies o Procurement, Operations, or Finance roles (or applicable consulting engagements) o Prior responsibility for individual sales and/or revenue growth targets o Experience working with Private Equity groups and their portfolio companies? o Prior experience in consulting preferred but not required #LI-JC1
