People Operations Partner

We're building an HR function grounded in clarity, consistency, and care, and we're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented People Operations Partner to join us.This role blends day-to-day HR operations with proactive people support. You’ll work closely with leadership to understand business goals and translate them into effective HR practices.
You’ll have space to build, own, improve, and scale the employee experience as Mood grows.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver high-quality HR support at both the team and individual levels within assigned operational channels at Mood
- Support performance management through direct employee guidance, manager coaching, development planning, and disciplinary processes.
- Partner with HR leadership to translate business needs into effective processes and employee-facing solutions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to frontline and department leaders, offering guidance grounded in empathy, accountability, and data
- Support end-to-end benefits management, including employee enrollments, troubleshooting, eligibility tracking, and vendor coordination.
- Coordinate leaves of absence following FMLA, ADA, and applicable state laws, using platforms like Tilt and Disclo.
- Maintain HR systems and ensure data accuracy across HRIS, carrier portals, and internal documentation
- Partner with stakeholders to roll out company-wide programs in ways that are meaningful and relevant to each channel
- Support the development of Mood’s employer brand by reinforcing our values and voice at every touchpoint—from onboarding to policy messaging
- Lead key talent processes such as onboarding, policy acknowledgments, engagement check-ins, and employee communication strategies
- Contribute to cross-functional HR initiatives such as multi-state compliance, internal communications, employee experience audits, and change management
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of HR or HR-adjacent experience (e.g., operations, employee engagement, recruiting, or learning and development)
- Proven ability to support distributed, multi-state teams and navigate changing environments
- Independent, organized, and passionate about detail
- A team player who builds strong relationships across functions
- A motivated and active learner who teaches themselves what they don’t yet know
- A track record of owning projects or programs end-to-end, and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines at once
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Critical thinking with the ability to anticipate issues before they arise and suggest practical solutions
- No hesitation in getting your hands dirty in the trenches. You are not too pretentious to grind it out
- A passion for people and doing the right thing, even when it’s not the easy thing
Bonus Points
- Experience with cannabis, e-commerce, or regulated industries. Familiarity with employment law in regulated states.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now. Comfort working across internal platforms like G Suite, Slack, and shared resource libraries.
- An understanding of how HR, communication, and brand intersect.
Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role.
- Compensation: $68K to $78K (DOE)
