Position Overview
The Contract Specialist provides acquisition and contracting support to the Government, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. This role supports all phases of the acquisition lifecycle, from requirements development through contract closeout, and plays a key role in developing solicitation documents, evaluating proposals, and administering awarded contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of acquisition strategies, procurement plans, and solicitation documents.
- Prepare, review, and edit Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and other acquisition documentation.
- Support market research, proposal evaluations, and source selection activities.
- Administer awarded contracts, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and performance requirements.
- Track and manage contract modifications, funding actions, and deliverables.
- Maintain contract files and documentation in accordance with agency policies.
- Provide advisory services to Government personnel on acquisition regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Coordinate with program managers, financial analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure acquisition milestones are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Acquisition, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Federal contracting, with demonstrated knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
- Experience supporting DoD or Space Force acquisition programs strongly preferred.
- DAWIA Level II or III in Contracting, FAC-C (Professional), or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills.
- Proficiency with procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated compensation range for this position is between $115,000 and $125,000 annually, based on benchmarks in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. This range reflects a good faith estimate for all experience levels.
