JOB SUMMARY:


As the Database Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, creating, manipulating, and organizing database systems. You will modify Oracle database schemas, static data load, and program documentation. You will consolidate customer data to make it easily accessible and readable to users throughout their community. Work closely with the development team to update database storage architecture, troubleshoot technical issues, and create visual layouts to display data.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Proficiency in Oracle databases
  • Experience with configuration management systems
  • Complete documentation and instructions for customers
  • Respond to requests for data, requiring writing some ad hoc queries; audit trail for accounts, etc.
  • Monitor jobs execution, and make corrective actions when necessary
  • Assist developers, network administration, and applications support staff in diagnosing and resolving database-related application problems
  • Develop scripts to optimally perform procedures, functions and notifications as part of the day to day management functions. Moderate experience in SQL performance tuning is required
  • Create or modify primary objects (tables, views, indices, keys), as required to support the requirements defined by the application support functions and system developers
  • Architect and design of production database systems. Create objects (tables, views, indices, keys), as required by architects and implemented by system developers
  • Build database systems of high availability and quality
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database servers
  • Installing/Provisioning/Troubleshooting complex enterprise software

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Experience with Configuration management system
  • Experience with maintaining database schemas. static data loads, data migration
  • Experience creating and updating customer documentation
  • Knowledge in database design and architecture
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
  • Good understanding of disaster recovery and database backup procedures
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS:


  • Proficiency in Postgres, Linux, Git, Bash, SQL Server, Atlassian Suite, MySQL, MS Access, Java, VMware Suite, Ansible
  • Knowledge of storage, networking, and cyber to include STIGs
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Significant relevant experience in supporting the sustainment of mission systems/subsystems; NORAD-NORTHCOM, Air and Space missile warning, or Legacy Space preferred
  • Experience working in scaled Agile environment frameworks such as SAFe
  • Significant experience in installing, configuring, scripting, developing, testing and troubleshooting enterprise databases

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of experience in IT as a Database Administrator/Engineer/Developer (preferably Oracle and Oracle RAC ), 2+ years of experience designing, executing, and supporting data solutions in Production

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline preferred

Minimum ACTIVE Secret Clearance REQUIRED for considerationActual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.Estimated Pay Range$120,000 - $140,000USD
