The Real Deal is hiring a Technical Product Manager to help us plan, organize, QA, and ship work across our digital publishing platform. You’ll partner with a small team of developers, including a senior engineer, and help bridge the gap between business needs and execution—making sure the right work gets done, the right way, and on time.
What You’ll Do
Organize & Prioritize Work
Maintain a clean backlog of prioritized, scoped, and assigned ticketsTranslate cross-departmental requests into actionable technical tasksCollaborate with the senior developer on sprint planning and capacity managementEnsure developers always have clear, well-defined work in the pipeline
Manage QA & Delivery
Define test cases and coordinate QA for new features and fixesTriage bugs and edge cases, verify fixes, and drive follow-upEnsure the quality of everything that ships—working closely with developers and stakeholders
Bridge Teams
Gather requirements from sales, editorial, marketing, and subscriptionsClarify priorities and provide updates to stakeholders on status and deliveryHelp ensure that campaign, revenue, and platform-critical needs are accounted for in planning
Improve Processes
Help improve sprint rituals, ticket standards, QA workflows, and roadmap hygieneSupport platform maintenance, tech debt tracking, and documentationSuggest improvements to internal systems or workflows—technical or operational
You Might Be a Fit If You Have…
3–6 years in product management, technical project management, or product opsExperience working with developers and writing technical ticketsFamiliarity with QA processes and release planningA collaborative, detail-oriented, and unflappable working styleSome technical literacy (HTML, JS, Python, APIs, CMSs)—enough to ask the right questions and understand tradeoffs
Bonus Points For
Exposure to publishing, subscriptions, ad campaigns, or digital media platformsExperience in a startup or lean team environmentFamiliarity with tools like Linear, Notion, Slack, GitHub, FigmaBasic coding skills, scripting experience, or a past life as a developer
