Plant Foreman
The Plant Foreman is responsible for managing daily operations in a Door Production facility while actively working alongside the production team. This role balances on-the-floor leadership, technical production expertise, and administrative oversight to ensure orders are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and lead production employees, assigning daily tasks and adjusting workflow to meet deadlines.
- Work side-by-side with the team during peak periods, providing hands-on assistance and technical guidance.
- Coach, train, and mentor employees to improve skills, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Production Oversight
- Monitor production schedules and adjust manpower or processes to ensure timely completion.
- Operate and oversee the use of woodworking machinery, cutting tools, and assembly equipment as needed.
- Conduct quality inspections at multiple stages of production to ensure specifications are met.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement quick, effective solutions.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure all employees wear required PPE.
- Conduct safety inspections and promptly address hazards or unsafe practices.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and company regulations.
Process & Efficiency Improvements
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflow, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager to implement lean manufacturing practices.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or process changes to improve production performance.
Administrative Duties
- Track and report daily production metrics, attendance, and downtime.
- Assist in scheduling shifts and managing overtime requirements.
- Coordinate with maintenance, shipping/receiving, and inventory control teams.
Requirements
Required:
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or door production.
- Strong technical knowledge of woodworking tools, door assembly processes, and quality control.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and production schedules.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
Work Environment
- Production floor setting with exposure to noise, dust, and wood materials.
- Requires a combination of administrative office work and active floor participation.
Salary Description$70,000-80,000
