The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on “Lead Engineer - DevOps and Technical Support” to own and evolve our AWS infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and Level 4 technical support practices. This is a high-impact, senior role reporting directly to the EVP of Technology and working alongside two senior software architects. You’ll be a key contributor in ensuring our systems run reliably, securely, and efficiently. Our environment is built on .NET, JavaScript, and Drupal and hosted in AWS and Acquia across multiple production environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage our AWS infrastructure, with a breadth of knowledge across many different AWS services and a strong focus on EC2, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Elasticache.
- Own and manage our Acquia infrastructure, with a strong knowledge of the Drupal platform.
- Oversee and optimize our CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines).
- Manage and perform off-hours production deployments, including configuration management, validation, and rollback planning.
- Monitor system health and performance using New Relic, CloudWatch, and internal tools. Proactively make and implement scale recommendations before issues arise.
- Diagnose and resolve complex Level 4 technical issues, including deployment failures, infrastructure faults, production errors, and customer escalated bugs.
- Collaborate with engineering and support teams to drive stability and efficiency across systems.
- Document architecture decisions, deployment processes, and resolution playbooks.
- Continuously identify and implement improvements in deployment, automation, monitoring, and support processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.
- 3+ years of software development experience, preferably with C# and a JavaScript framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS, especially EC2, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Elasticache.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tooling, especially Jenkins and Bitbucket Pipelines.
- Proven track record managing and supporting production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across infrastructure and application layers.
- Familiarity with .NET and Drupal-based systems.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools like New Relic and CloudWatch.
- Thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to deployments and operational changes.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and support teams.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote-first environment.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., CloudFormation).
- Scripting experience (e.g., Node, PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Exposure to Windows and Linux-based hosting environments.
