Job Summary


As Manager of Relationship Management, you will play a key role in supporting and strengthening relationships with our retirement plan clients. You’ll manage a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring high-quality service delivery, proactive communication, and strategic guidance. In addition, you’ll oversee a team of Relationship Managers, providing coaching, support, and alignment with company service standards. This role requires strong retirement industry knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for client success. 

Job Responsibilities


  • Supervise and support a team of Relationship Managers, including onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Set team goals and service benchmarks in alignment with department objectives
  • Monitor responsiveness and ensure timely resolutions across all client interactions and service requests 
  • Create processes and procedures for efficient work completion and ongoing monitoring of team performance 
  • Identify and distribute client assignments, including identification of strategic accounts, while matching specific skills requirements with client needs to optimize service delivery and relationship outcomes
  • Lead client meetings, plan reviews, and fiduciary discussions focused on plan health and participant engagement
  • Partner with internal teams—Compliance, Operations, Plan Consulting, and Sales—to ensure seamless client service
  • Act as a client advocate, helping resolve service issues and escalate concerns when needed
  • Help deliver data-driven insights and recommendations that enhance client outcomes
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of team workflows, tools, and escalation processes
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in relationship or client management within the retirement plan or financial services industry
  • 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role
  • Solid understanding of qualified retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), 457, DB, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead client conversations
  • Experience mentoring team members and supporting professional development
  • Working knowledge of retirement plan compliance, ERISA, and fiduciary standards
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing client needs
  • Commitment to service excellence and long-term client relationship building
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree required; industry credentials such as QKA, QPA, or AIF are a plus 

Remote Work Information


For all virtual remote positions, in order to ensure employees can effectively perform their job duties with no distractions, we require an uninterrupted virtual work space and there is also an expectation of family care being in place during business hours. Compensation Information


The average salary for this position is expected to be between $92,000 and $120,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We do not anticipate candidates to be paid at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis. Other rewards and benefits may include: 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long term disability, paid-time off, etc.
