As a Systems Engineer, Level 2 supporting operations in Alice Springs, Australia, you will play a critical role in the design, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems at a secure client site. You will ensure optimal system performance, maintain data integrity, and provide technical support for network, hardware, and software infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and define system architecture for new and existing computer systems.
- Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems.
- Provide technical support for networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
- Troubleshoot moderately complex hardware and software issues.
- Train end users on the proper use of hardware and software.
- Install and upgrade operating systems and software packages.
- Monitor and tune systems for optimal performance.
- Ensure data integrity with standard software and hardware solutions.
- Perform regular backups and database archiving to ensure recoverability.
- Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
- Ensure systems meet performance and security requirements.
- Evaluate existing systems and assist in long-term planning strategies.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less-experienced team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in systems administration and systems architecture.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Ability to work independently in a secure, OCONUS environment.
- Knowledge of system monitoring, tuning, and performance optimization.
- Experience conducting audits to ensure compliance with security and configuration guidelines.
- Ability to train end users effectively.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED and 19 years of relevant experience. Or
- Bachelor’s degree in any field and 14 years of relevant experience.
Certifications:
- Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 requirements
Clearance Requirement:
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
