Main Purpose:


The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various machines and equipment. this position is located in Houston, Texas at our Englobal shop.

Essential Functions:


  • Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order 
  • Perform testing procedures to ensure that machines work optimally during the production procedures 
  • Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift 
  • Feed information akin to speed, shapes and sizes through the machine set up box 
  • Place parts in semi-automated machines 
  • Calibrate machines at the beginning of each shift 
  • Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running 
  • Troubleshoot problems during machine operation 
  • Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out 
  • Perform random tests to ensure accuracy 
  • Perform safety checks on every machine 
  • Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output 
  • Ensure stocks of needed materials are ready and available at all times 
  • Create and maintain activity logs 
  • Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements:


  • Standing

  • Balancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing
  • Lifting - employees must lift to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:


  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to work weekends and overtime if necessary
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:


  • Experience operating a plasma table
  • Experience operating press break, and sheet metal shears

Tools, Equipment, and Technology:


  • Various machines and presses
  • Various equipment, including forklifts

Environmental Conditions:


80% to 90% of the work activities are performed indoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust and mud, etc.ENGlobal a Gulf Island Company will not sponsor applications for work visas.
