About Epirus
Epirus is a high-growth technology company dedicated to overcoming the asymmetric challenges inherent to the future of national security. Epirus' flagship product, Leonidas, is a software-defined system built using intelligent power management techniques that allow power-hungry systems to do more with less.
Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Interactive Simulation Developer to lead the development of an immersive simulation environment for mission planning, training, UI/UX testing, and more. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing high-quality products and simulations, particularly in Unreal Engine. As a senior team member, you will oversee the technical development, guide the project, and shape the simulation roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings to independently build and troubleshoot complex harness assemblies.
- Manufacture prototype and production harnesses—including shielded, twisted pair, coaxial, high-voltage, and multi-branch—following Epirus work instructions and prescribed standards.
- Install, route, and rework harnesses within mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and vehicles.
- Perform continuity, resistance, insulation, and functional testing using multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and network analyzers or other specialized in process equipment.
- Setup and operate crimping tools (manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic) to perform precision crimps on a variety of contacts and terminals per IPC/WHMA-A-620 and MIL-spec standards.
- Inspect and verify crimp quality using pull testing, crimp micrometers, and visual inspection under magnification.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI), development builds, rapid prototyping, and final acceptance of electrical harnesses.
- Ensure workmanship quality, maintain build traceability, and uphold zero-defect standards through proper documentation and process control.
- Collaborate with production, test, and quality teams to resolve build issues and implement corrective actions.
- Mentor and train Junior Harnessing Technicians.
- Maintain accurate records of builds, rework, and inspections in accordance with AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building aerospace/defense or high-reliability electrical harness assemblies.
- Expert knowledge of hand tools and equipment used for crimping, stripping, cutting, and soldering.
- Strong soldering skills. Ability to hand solder lap and lash splices, and fine pitch soldering cups.
- Strong understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, J-STD-001, and NASA workmanship standards.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and mechanical drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing plans.
- Proficient with test equipment such as multimeters, hipot testers, and oscilloscopes.
- Proven track record of building complex harnesses.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, iterative, and high-standards environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Minimum8+ years' experience as a technician in defense, aerospace, or equivalent high‐reliability field
- Certified to J-STD-100, IPC-620, and IPC-610 or NASA STD8739.4
- Strong knowledge and experience in manufacturing, troubleshooting, testing, rework and repair of harnessing
- Experience with connectors (e.g., D38999, Glenair, Micro-D, Nano-D, MIL-spec coax).
- Familiarity with spacecraft, UAV, missile, or ground combat system harnessing practices.
- Experience with cleanroom protocols and ESD-safe practices
- Experience with PLM and MES systems such as Oracle, Epicor, Ion, JIRA etc.
- Ability to support light CAD work for layout and harness routing (SolidWorks Electrical, E3, or similar).
Additional Requirements:
- May be required to retain a TS Clearance
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
