We are seeking a motivated and experienced Web Developer to oversee our website and intranet. This in-house role requires technical expertise to maintain performance, implement security measures, manage plugins and integrations, and support marketing, IT, and communications teams. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Website Management (WordPress):
  • Maintain and optimize the backend architecture of the FreedomPay corporate WordPress site. 
  • Manage plugins, themes, custom code, and CMS updates. 
  • Implement SEO best practices and monitor technical performance. 
  • Troubleshoot bugs, hosting, and compatibility issues. 
  • Collaborate with marketing on page creation, A/B testing, tracking, and UX improvements. 
  • Translate design concepts into mobile-friendly, functional websites. 
  • Customize and style templates using HTML and CSS to align with branding. 
  • Test and optimize new functionality for site speed and performance. 
  • Ensure webpages are visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly across all devices and browsers. 
  • Troubleshoot bugs, hosting issues, and compatibility problems. 
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams on DNS and development issues that involve technical expertise. 
  • Collaborate with and support in-house content and SEO teams. 
  • Prepare documentation according to project requirements and outcomes. 
  • Intranet:
  • Perform routine vulnerability scans, apply updates, and complete backups. 
  • Coordinate with IT and compliance teams to ensure alignment with applicable regulations and cybersecurity standards. 
  • Engage external vendors when necessary for advanced development or infrastructure tasks. 
  • Assess areas for enhancement in website and intranet functionality, automation, and innovation. 
  • Intranet (Internal Portal) Oversight:
  • Manage and maintain the company intranet, overseeing user access, updating content, and implementing platform upgrades. 
  • Maintain a secure, scalable, and user-friendly internal communications infrastructure. 
  • Integrate collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365 and SharePoint as required. 
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Ensure the website and intranet adhere to industry-leading security and data protection standards. 
  • Perform routine vulnerability assessments, system updates, and data backups. 
  • Collaborate with IT and compliance departments to maintain alignment with applicable regulations and cybersecurity frameworks. 
  • Technical Support & Innovation:
  • Act as the main contact for website troubleshooting and support. 
  • Coordinate with vendors on advanced development or infrastructure issues when necessary. 
  • Spot opportunities to improve, automate, or innovate the website and intranet. 
  • Analytics & Reporting:
  • Set up and manage Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and tracking tools. 
  • Deliver monthly reports on site traffic, technical status, and user behavior. 

Qualifications:


  • 5+ years in back-end WordPress development or IT/web management. 
  • Proficient in PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS. 
  • Experienced with web hosting, DNS, CDN (e.g., Cloudflare), and security protocols (SSL, firewalls). 
  • Familiar with CMS and intranet platforms (SharePoint, Confluence, or custom solutions). 
  • Knowledge of website analytics, SEO tools, and data privacy compliance (GDPR). 
  • Skilled at collaborating with marketing, communications, and IT teams. 
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented, and proactive. 
  • Proven Web Developer experience with a strong portfolio or relevant work samples. 
  • Experience integrating APIs (Salesforce, Google, paid social). 
  • Effective team player, available to support colleagues as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud. 
  • Familiarity with tools such as Tableau CRM, Boomi, Celigo and Zendesk. 
  • Experience working in Agile environments and using DevOps tools like Gearset or Copado. 
  • Background in enterprise IT, with knowledge of system architecture, APIs, and middleware. 

Preferred Skills:


  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise-level WordPress implementations.
  • Proficient in managing staging environments, utilizing version control systems such as Git, and overseeing deployment workflows.
  • Skilled in integrating customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, including Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and expertise in mobile-first development.
  • Experienced in using graphic design tools, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, and Sketch.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of web design principles, typography, and color theory.
