Avaap is seeking a Workday Spend Manager to join our team of Workday experts. This role combines deep functional knowledge with strong project and people leadership.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with Workday Spend module expertise who is ready to lead complex projects, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the growth of our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Workday Spend modules, including Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Expenses, Business Assets, and Projects. Lease Accounting experience is a plus.
- Lead design sessions, guide clients through complex business challenges, and deliver strategic recommendations and configurations.
- Oversee Workday implementations end-to-end: planning, design, configuration, UAT, deployment, and support.
- Lead large-scale projects or key workstreams, including direct oversight of deliverables, staffing, timelines, and client communications.
- Serve as a mentor and people manager, supporting junior consultants and direct reports through performance feedback, coaching, and career development.
- Partner with Avaap leadership to manage practice operations including resource forecasting, bench management, and adoption of internal processes and methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement by contributing to tools, best practices, knowledge-sharing, and methodology enhancements.
- Provide sales support through scoping, SOW writing, and client presentations.
- Build and manage client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Workday certification in one or more Financials modules (required).
- Minimum of 2–3 full lifecycle Workday Spend implementations from Plan to Deploy.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into complex Workday configurations.
- Prior consulting experience supporting Higher Ed, Government, Healthcare, Nonprofit, or Commercial clients preferred.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- Experience in project management, team leadership, and client-facing consulting roles.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, PSA tools, and practice-specific software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage deadlines, and mentor talent.
- Experience in proposal development, estimates, and SOW creation.
Pay Transparency
Compensation for roles at Avaap varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific business unit, team, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Avaap provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.
- Base Salary Range is $150,000 to $185,000 plus 25% variable compensation is available for this specific role. At Avaap it is not typical to be hired at the top of the base salary range.
- During the interview process, alignment to level will be determined and should level differ from position applied for, a new compensation range will be provided for the appropriate role.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

- Ability to work remotely or out of one of Avaap’s physical office locations
- Current permanent U.S. work authorization required
