Title: Pricing Manager
*Hiring in Chicago, IL. (Full-time)What You'll Do
- Contract Pricing Execution
- Lead all contract pricing efforts across business units, including RFP responses and award management.
- Ensure alignment with margin targets, customer expectations, and carrier capacity
- Conduct strategy meetings with sales reps to align on pricing strategy, target lanes / markets, and scope of opportunity
- Model Development & Ownership
- Help design and implement a dynamic pricing tool that incorporates internal capacity data, including carrier quotes & lane preferences, market indices, and historical data to forecast buy rates.
- Maintain and enhance existing contract pricing model
- Monitor bot performance and recommend ongoing parameter adjustments based on win rates, service feedback, and cost shifts
- Market Intelligence
- Regularly evaluate industry trends, freight market shifts, and competitor benchmarks to inform pricing decisions
- Provide clear, data backed guidance to the sales teams on strategic pricing & negotiation adjustments
- Reporting & Insights
- Provide regular guidance and quoting strategy through reporting
- Keep track of and monitor awards
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with carrier procurement, sales, and operations to align pricing with service capabilities and margin goals
- Identify areas for improvement within the pricing workflow as it related to the company as a whole
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Logistics, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in pricing, strategy, or analytics within logistics, transportation, or a fast paced B2B environment
- Advanced excel skills, including VBA scripting
- Proficient in SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets
- Python experience for data modeling and automation
- Familiarity with building reports in Tableau
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with high attention to detail & curiosity about industry trends
