Role Overview


We’re looking for a Social Media Manager (Turkey) to support and grow our presence on TikTok and Instagram in Turkey. You will work closely with a local creative agency and serve as the main point of contact for managing the planning, production, and performance of Duolingo’s Turkish social media channels.

This is a 6-month contractor role, based in Turkey.

You’ll collaborate regularly with our international marketing team and report to the Country Marketing Director for Germany.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in social media management who brings a strong understanding of internet culture, is fluent in TikTok and Instagram, and can confidently manage projects and agency partners with clarity and structure.

You Will...


  • Lead Duolingo’s organic social presence in Turkey across TikTok and Instagram
  • Manage the day-to-day collaboration with our local creative agency — from briefing content ideas to approving assets and overseeing publishing calendars
  • Track content performance, analyze results, and make recommendations for future content and strategy based on what’s working
  • Contribute cultural insights and platform trends to help our team create locally relevant, entertaining, and high-performing content
  • Ensure content aligns with Duolingo’s brand tone and voice — playful, bold, and culturally savvy

You Have...


  • Hands-on experience with TikTok and Instagram — either professionally or personally — and a strong sense of what works and why
  • Ability to manage creative partners and timelines with structure and clarity
  • A passion for internet culture, memes, trends, and building community online
  • Strong data analysis skills and a numbers-driven mindset — you know how to turn performance insights into action

Requirements:


  • 3+ years of experience in social media, content marketing, or a related field
  • Experience in owning or leading social strategy for a personal or consumer brand
  • Proficient in Turkish with excellent English speaking and writing skills

Exceptional Candidates Will Have...


  • Experience in agency management
  • Familiarity with mobile-first brands or consumer apps & subscription services
  • Experience successfully scaling international brands in Turkey
  • Experience working as part of a remote team, building strong HQ relationships and influencing effectively local market needs
  • Proficient in a 3rd language
